Space Solutions Action Officer

Role Overview

The Space Solutions Action Officer role involves supporting Combatant Commands and Service Components by identifying and implementing technology-driven solutions to address existing capability gaps. You will collaborate across geographical locations, ensuring alignment and synergy. Your experience in Space and Joint mission domains will be pivotal for recognizing challenges that may affect operational performance during exercises or conflict, developing optimal solutions, and evaluating commercial options. Advising senior leadership on relevant space capabilities and their regional applicability is also a key responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist Combatant Commands and Service Components by pinpointing technology solutions to meet capability gaps.
• Coordinate activities with counterparts across different regions to ensure effective cooperation.
• Analyze current and emerging challenges affecting operational readiness in exercises or potential conflicts.
• Design and assess ideal-state solutions, benchmarking against commercial products.
• Brief senior leaders on available space capabilities and their regional applications.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Previous experience within the Department of Defense or Intelligence Community as a Commissioned Officer, Senior NCO, or contractor.
• Background supporting Combatant Commands or Service Component Commands.
• Proven capability in researching, organizing, developing, and delivering presentations for senior military and DoD leadership.
• Experience in organizing, training, and equipping processes including JCIDS activities, Analyses of Alternatives, CONOPs, or Defense Acquisition procedures.
• Strong understanding of DoD requirements and acquisition protocols.
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
• Must hold a Secret security clearance.
• Bachelor's degree is mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience serving on a Joint or Service Staff.
• Familiarity with Joint Exercises.
• Technical writing expertise.
• Possession of TS/SCI clearance.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation ranges from $86,800 to $198,000 annually, reflecting location, education, skills, experience, and organizational factors. Eligibility for benefits applies to full-time and part-time employees working at least 20 hours weekly. Other employees qualify for select offerings.
