Role Overview

The AI Engineer will be tasked with developing and refining AI functionalities that drive Rezonate’s products. This includes work on speech recognition and synthesis, natural language understanding, multimodal classification, retrieval techniques, and large language model (LLM)-based agents. The role requires close collaboration with product managers, engineers, and other technical staff to transition AI models from prototypes into scalable, production-ready services. The work directly impacts healthcare environments where precision, safety, and responsiveness are paramount.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and implement AI agents and processing pipelines involving speech-to-text, text-to-speech, natural language understanding, retrieval, tool utilization, and related capabilities.
• Develop proof-of-concept prototypes and tailor existing products to support pre-sales activities.
• Establish and define evaluation criteria targeting accuracy, latency, robustness, and healthcare-specific key performance indicators.
• Conduct comprehensive error analysis and iterate on models through data enhancements, prompt adjustments, or architectural changes.
• Construct evaluation datasets and edge-case test collections to guarantee system reliability in production settings.

Prerequisite Qualifications

• Exceptional academic record (GPA of 4.0 on a 5-point scale or its equivalent).
• Proficient in using code generation agents such as Claude Code.
• Strong coding skills in Python and Javascript coupled with familiarity with modern AI frameworks including LangChain, LangGraph, and LlamaIndex.
• Capability to independently troubleshoot and optimize performance beyond basic prompting techniques with LLMs.
• Experience managing full AI product lifecycle stages: scoping, experimentation, iteration, and deployment.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across diverse teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous internship or project exposure in healthcare or similarly regulated fields.
• Experience handling conversational datasets and designing speech-processing pipelines.
• Knowledge of evaluation methodologies for speech and LLM-based systems.
• Published research works in relevant AI or healthcare domains.
