Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled Sign Writer to execute sign fabrication, painting, and design duties in accordance with supervisor directives to meet client and yard standards, ensuring timely project completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Fabricate and construct signs by following approved drawings and specifications for size and lettering.
• Install signs at diverse locations, applying appropriate painting and finishing techniques using various materials.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the work area to meet housekeeping standards.
• Properly utilize and care for tools and machinery to minimize wear and prevent breakdowns.
• Avoid wastage of materials and consumables; promptly report any tool or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor.
• Engage proactively in self-improvement through on-the-job training and education.
• Ensure continuous workflow by adhering to daily operational procedures relevant to the role.
• Observe all safety, quality, and environmental policies to maintain a healthy and safe workplace.
• Carry out additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

• Completed Trade Apprenticeship or Secondary School Vocational training related to signwriting.
• Minimum of three years of experience as a Sign Writer, preferably within shipyard or offshore industrial projects.
• Certification or experience operating cherry pickers and manlifts.
• Good command of the English language.
• Knowledge of shipyard environments or similar industrial facilities.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately.
• Hands-on experience with spray-paint specifications and paint classifications.
• Computer literacy.
• Strong team orientation with attentive, punctual behavior and good listening skills.

Additional Information

Work location: Ras Laffan, Al Khor, and Al Thakhira, Qatar. This is a full-time onsite position. Safety, quality, and environmental compliance is mandatory.
