Role Overview
The Service Consultant will handle administration and client services for both Personal and Commercial insurance policies, ensuring timely and accurate processing of policy-related transactions while maintaining compliance with industry and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage policy endorsements, renewals, and new business orders within agreed service timelines.
- Process amendments, quotes, renewals, and cancellations using insurer and CRM systems accurately.
- Review policy documents for accuracy, adherence to client instructions, and underwriting compliance.
- Communicate updates on policy changes, renewal conditions, premium adjustments, and provide relevant insurance documentation to clients promptly.
- Monitor outstanding premiums, unpaid debit orders, and cancellations, actively seeking opportunities to retain clients.
- Provide professional resolutions to client inquiries, complaints, and account-related issues.
- Maintain comprehensive client records and audit trails through detailed CRM documentation and file management.
- Coordinate with insurers, brokers, finance departments, and other stakeholders to facilitate efficient policy administration and service delivery.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, company policies, underwriting guidelines, and Financial Institutions Act (FIA) requirements.
- Assist in monthly reporting and participate in continuous improvements of processes and services.
- Support claims-related policy updates, cover confirmations, and related administrative tasks.
- Uphold the company's commitment to excellent customer service by adhering to service values, client service charters, and brand standards.
Qualifications & Experience
- Completion of School Leaving Certificate.
- Introductory Programme in Short-Term Insurance at NQF Level 4.
- Minimum of three years' experience in the short-term insurance sector.
Skills & Competencies
- Fluent English communication skills, both spoken and written; knowledge of an additional Namibian local language is advantageous.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong interpersonal communication and relationship management abilities.
- Capability to professionally address client complaints, disputes, and conflicts.
- Good understanding of insurance policy language, underwriting principles, and insurer systems.
- Familiarity with CRM systems and policy administration workflows.
- Strong analytical thinking, planning, and organizational skills with high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Customer-oriented mindset with a dedication to delivering quality service and achieving results.
- Ability to follow established procedures, maintain regulatory compliance, and embody company values.
