About Docker
Docker is a globally recognized developer tooling brand trusted by over 20 million users monthly and responsible for more than 20 billion container image downloads. The company's products—including Docker Desktop, Docker Hub, and Docker Scout—enable developers from solo entrepreneurs to large enterprises to build, share, and run applications efficiently. Operating as a remote-first, globally distributed team, Docker is pioneering software development paradigms centered on AI agents by offering secure, sandboxed environments and verified container images that foster trustworthy autonomous workflows.
Role Overview
The Senior Solutions Engineer (SE) will be a key technical expert working in one of Docker's most strategically important APAC markets—India. This role involves engaging large enterprise clients, empowering a diverse channel partner ecosystem, and fostering a robust presence within India's active developer communities. The role includes periodic travel across Southeast Asia to support regional activities. Reporting to the APAC SE Leader, this position merges customer engagement, partner enablement, community evangelism, and AI solutions advocacy.
Key Responsibilities
- Empower channel partners such as system integrators, IT services firms, VARs, and hyperscalers by co-selling, conducting workshops, and delivering enablement programs to enhance their technical expertise.
- Provide architectural support, proof-of-concept assistance, and demonstrate Docker’s competitive advantages during partner-led sales processes.
- Develop and maintain technical resources such as demo setups, reference architectures, and enablement materials tailored for partners.
- Foster and sustain strong relationships within India's channel ecosystem, serving both partner and direct customer opportunities, while supporting pipeline growth.
- Promote Docker’s visibility and reputation within India's developer and DevSecOps communities across major tech hubs including Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, Delhi NCR, and Mumbai through speaking engagements, content creation, and participation in events like meetups and hackathons.
- Lead thorough technical discovery sessions with strategic accounts, addressing AI governance, software supply chain security, regulatory compliance (including DPDP Act, CERT-In, RBI circulars, SEBI, MeitY), container security, and DevSecOps maturity.
- Design, present, and execute structured proof-of-concept (PoC) and proof-of-value (PoV) engagements with clearly defined success metrics and executive communications.
- Advocate Docker's AI security portfolio—such as MCP Gateway, AI Governance, Hardened Images, and Sandbox—for secure agentic AI development workflows and help clients implement these governance controls across their software lifecycle.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on container and AI security trends, providing architectural guidance and developing reusable technical assets to maximize impact across channels and direct engagements.
- Gather and relay India-specific customer and partner feedback to Product and Engineering teams to influence product development.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience as a Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Solution Architect, or Developer Advocate with a technical sales or community-facing focus.
- Knowledge of AI security, governance frameworks, or secure software supply chain practices; direct experience with agentic AI development is advantageous.
- Strong foundation in container technologies, DevOps practices, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and contemporary application architectures.
- Capability to operate effectively across enterprise accounts and developer communities.
- Excellent communication skills and influence with both technical and business stakeholders.
- Experience collaborating with partners and channel sales, including co-selling and running enablement initiatives.
- Familiarity with Indian enterprise tech ecosystems, including IT service providers, large system integrators, and startups.
- Willingness to travel domestically within India’s major tech hubs and occasional travel to Southeast Asia.
- Preferred: experience with Docker technologies, public speaking, developer advocacy, competitive PoC/Pov leadership, and understanding of Indian compliance regulations related to data protection and cybersecurity.
Initial Onboarding and Milestones
- First 30 days: Setup, training on Docker tools and team integration, introduction to channel contacts, pipeline review, and learning Docker’s AI portfolio.
- First 60 days: Deliver partner enablement sessions, engage in active accounts, develop a community engagement plan, and deepen product knowledge with focus on Indian market relevance.
- First 90 days: Manage independent operations across partner, customer, and community channels; deliver content or speaking engagements; complete account handovers; and contribute to strategic planning and field feedback.
