Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Solution Designer to join our Group IT – Corporate HR Systems team in Singapore, focusing on payroll systems. This position serves as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on payroll technology, responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise-grade payroll solutions on cloud-based HR platforms. You will lead solution architecture, ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory standards, oversee system improvements, and maintain system performance and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement payroll solutions tailored to business needs on SaaS platforms.
- Drive payroll process standardization and promote best practices during system deployments.
- Provide core support for payroll lifecycle including processing, integrations, data validations, and statutory compliance configurations.
- Manage technical payroll settings such as schemas and rules ensuring system stability and accurate regulatory reporting.
- Coordinate system enhancements, manage SIT/UAT testing, maintain functional documentation, and oversee release deployments within packaged solution environments.
- Perform root cause analysis to resolve complex issues and continuously improve payroll system operations.
- Act as liaison between HR, Finance, IT teams, and vendors, facilitating collaboration and ensuring smooth adoption of solutions.
- Participate in bi-annual HRSP upgrades and payroll system maintenance activities to ensure business continuity.
- Support penetration testing and audits for HR systems to guarantee compliance with security protocols and address vulnerabilities.
- Contribute to application strategy, roadmap development, and continuous advancement initiatives.
- Recommend and evaluate new technologies to optimize payroll system capabilities and efficiency.
Payroll Technology Advancement and Capability Building
- Keep abreast of the latest industry developments, payroll technologies, and SaaS platform innovations to enhance existing payroll solutions.
- Build and deepen technical and functional expertise for supporting system upgrades, enhancements, and platform performance improvements.
- Develop proficiency in cloud-based payroll platforms, their integrations, and runtime environments to support contemporary payroll architectures.
- Continuously upskill on emerging tools and technologies to boost payroll system scalability, reliability, and performance.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Over 8 years’ experience in IT consulting or HR system project delivery.
- At least 5 years of direct functional and configuration experience, including 2 years supporting Singapore Payroll.
- Successful delivery of at least two full payroll system implementation cycles.
- Hands-on experience with payroll parallel runs, regular/off-cycle payroll processing, payroll/time schema configurations, tax calculations, and payroll data replication.
- Strong knowledge of HR cloud technologies, statutory compliance, payroll regulations, and payroll data management and integrations.
