Role Overview

The Senior Site Reliability Administrator is pivotal in maintaining high availability, performance, and reliability for OpenText's cloud services. Operating within a cloud DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering framework, this role involves creating scalable solutions, automating operational processes, and promoting continuous enhancements across production environments. Collaboration with development, product, customer service, and business teams is essential to improve monitoring, observability, and operational readiness. The role also demands proactive issue resolution, leading incident investigations, and establishing best practices for cloud operations, thereby ensuring customers enjoy a reliable service experience globally.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, deploy, and uphold monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability systems for extensive cloud applications.
• Work alongside Agile development teams to elevate system reliability, performance, and readiness operations.
• Lead incident management efforts including root cause analysis and ongoing service improvement programs.
• Develop automation tools, operational runbooks, and deployment pipelines to minimize manual work and boost efficiency.
• Engage with contemporary cloud-native technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, various cloud platforms, and microservices architectures.
• Contribute within a collaborative, data-focused team that prioritizes knowledge sharing, innovation, and continuous professional development.

Qualifications and Skills

• Extensive experience supporting and resolving issues within Linux-based production environments and distributed systems.
• Practical knowledge of cloud services like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including container platforms like Kubernetes and Docker.
• Familiarity with at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, Shell, Perl, JavaScript) for automating operational tasks.
• Experience using monitoring and observability tools such as Dynatrace, New Relic, AppDynamics, Zabbix, Kibana, Elasticsearch, or related technologies.
• Strong understanding of application and middleware components, including Java applications, Apache, Tomcat, RESTful APIs, messaging systems, and databases.
• Excellent problem-solving capabilities, capable of managing complex incidents independently and collaboratively within a 24x7 operational context.
