Senior React Developer / UI Engineer

Role Overview

TekMinders seeks a seasoned Senior React Developer with a keen eye for UI engineering to not just construct frontend applications but to take ownership of the product's appearance, interactivity, and scalable component architecture. This position requires profound skills in React, TypeScript, and contemporary frontend design principles paired with strong design intuition and the ability to work successfully with minimal design documentation.

The selected candidate will independently make critical UI/UX design decisions, shape the technical direction, and collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams including engineering and product management. Emphasis is placed on delivering interfaces that balance usability, visual harmony, and code quality.

Primary Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and maintain scalable React-based frontend applications using TypeScript.
• Create and own modular, reusable UI components contributing to a shared design system.
• Take initiative to solve UI/UX challenges in the absence of detailed designs while maintaining pattern consistency.
• Produce clean, well-organized, testable, and well-documented code adhering to engineering standards.
• Handle complex UI workflows, manage application state, and optimize frontend performance.
• Update, refactor, and improve existing frontend projects and legacy codebases.
• Design responsive, accessible, and user-centric interfaces focusing on usability and visual consistency.
• Collaborate extensively with backend developers, product owners, QA, DevOps, and designers where applicable.
• Engage in architecture discussions, conduct design and code reviews, sprint planning, and decision-making processes.
• Implement comprehensive frontend testing approaches with modern testing frameworks.
• Proactively detect and resolve performance bottlenecks, UX issues, edge cases, and maintainability challenges.

Essential Skills

• Expertise in React along with solid experience in modern JavaScript and TypeScript.
• In-depth knowledge of React Hooks and component-based architecture.
• Proven record of building scalable frontend apps and reusable UI libraries.
• Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, preprocessors like SASS/LESS, and responsive design techniques.
• Experience translating high-fidelity designs (such as Figma) into pixel-perfect production-ready UIs or making independent sound UI choices when design specs are missing.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and current frontend frameworks and tooling.
• Capability in frontend performance tuning and debugging methods.
• Hands-on experience with end-to-end testing tools like Cypress or Playwright.
• Knowledgeable in Jest and frontend testing best practices.
• Adept at code organization, maintainable practices, and clean coding standards.
• Proficient with Git and contemporary development workflows.

Preferred Expertise

• Experience managing or contributing to design systems or component libraries (e.g., Storybook, design tokens).
• Fluency with design software such as Figma to collaborate with or independently take design decisions.
• Familiarity with advanced data grid libraries such as Ag Grid and ecosystem tools like TanStack.
• Experience using modern build tools such as Vite.
• Knowledge of form libraries including Formik or Final Form.
• Awareness of web accessibility standards (WCAG/ARIA).
• Exposure to cloud services and CI/CD pipelines.
• Background in Agile software development environments.
