Headquartered in Melbourne with 200 employees across five countries, me&u emerged from the merger of two hospitality tech leaders, Mr Yum and me&u, in late 2023.

This role is open to professionals based in Sydney or Melbourne and revolves around redefining the traditional Product Manager (PM) role in an AI-driven product development environment.

Role Overview

Our PMs are makers who quickly identify commercial opportunities, rapidly prototype solutions within a week, and deliver products effectively by collaborating closely with design and engineering teams. Your initial focus will be on the payments stream — a crucial area managing billions of dollars annually for our venues. You will navigate evolving payment infrastructures, regulations, and user expectations while ensuring speedy development and accurate accounting.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead strategic payment initiatives from conception to execution, setting roadmap and owning commercial outcomes alongside engineering and marketing teams.
• Make informed commercial decisions around product positioning, packaging, trade-offs, and value creation, measuring success through business impact rather than output volume.
• Leverage AI to rapidly prototype and validate product concepts with real customers, turning ideas into functional proofs of concept.
• Engage deeply in discovery, continuously analyzing key metrics and spending time on-site with hospitality operators and guests to inform product decisions.
• Incorporate AI-first methodologies daily in analysis, communication, and feature evaluation to maximize product innovation.

Candidate Profile

• Demonstrated track record of delivering impactful products without a strict requirement on years of PM experience, emphasizing speed of learning, sound decision-making, and measurable results.
• Exhibits high initiative by seeking solutions proactively without waiting for detailed briefs or data completeness.
• Comfortable working natively with AI tools for prototyping, analysis, and product development, with a keen curiosity for emerging AI possibilities.
• Strong commercial acumen, balancing customer needs with business objectives.
• Technical fluency sufficient to develop prototypes and collaborate closely with engineers to bring ideas to production.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to align teams and senior stakeholders effectively.
• Acts as a pivotal connector between product and go-to-market units, maintaining strong cross-team cohesion.
• Prior experience or knowledge in payments is advantageous but not mandatory, with the company willing to train the right candidate.

Desirable Skills

• Experience in payments, fintech, or marketplace environments.
• Background in B2B SaaS within a scaling startup.
• A personal affinity for the hospitality industry.
