Role and Responsibilities

As a Senior Privacy Engineer in the Privacy Functional Team, you will lead and manage complex projects critical to company objectives. Your work will involve protecting user privacy by developing pragmatic, high-performance, and maintainable code primarily using Go, Node.js, Python, and occasionally Perl. Your projects may include:

• Designing privacy-conscious systems that enhance search indexes and AI capabilities.
• Developing features for the Tracker Radar crawler to identify new privacy threats.
• Implementing and maintaining web tracking and email protection privacy features.

You will own major components of privacy technology and be responsible for their ongoing improvement. Additionally, you will participate in privacy reviews and audits to ensure new products comply with privacy standards. Mentoring fellow engineers and aiding their professional growth is also an essential part of the role.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to lead and collaborate on impactful, complex projects from start to finish.
• Skill in handling ambiguous challenges, proposing creative solutions, and executing them effectively, involving team members as needed.
• Experience creating privacy solutions using technologies like tracker blockers, differential privacy, or related tools.
• Strong technical knowledge of online privacy risks and existing protective solutions.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Go, Node.js, Python, or Perl.
• Excellent communication skills with the capability to clearly justify decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers an annual salary of $178,500 USD along with stock options. Compensation is transparent and consistent within the same professional level and region. Eligibility for company-sponsored health insurance is limited to U.S.-based employees. Additional benefits cover paid parental leave, office setup support, and co-working allowances.

Additional Information

• The role is fully remote but requires video conference participation.
• Must be willing to travel approximately twice per year for company all-hands and team retreats lasting around 4-5 days each.
• Flexible work schedule with no core hours, expecting a full-time commitment of about 40 hours weekly.
