Job Summary
This role is for a senior-level data analyst who will help improve supervisory effectiveness by making better use of entity and regulatory data. The position focuses on turning data into practical insight for Supervision teams so they can spot risk earlier, decide where to intervene, and monitor firms more effectively. The work supports a live testing programme for a regulatory data reporting framework, with responsibility for helping assess system readiness, firm feasibility, and whether the collected data is usable for supervision. The aim is to increase confidence in the regulatory data build through quicker and more comprehensive testing.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse risk indicators, alerts and supervisory intelligence to support risk-based supervision and decision-making.
- Work with authorisation, holdings, transactions, legal entity and regulatory reporting data, and build connected views across firms and entities so supervisors can see a complete picture.
- Use data analysis to surface trends, anomalies, concentrations and emerging risks, and support thematic reviews, quantitative investigations and alert review.
- Review data quality, design validation checks, confirm legal entity identifiers, and improve datasets using outside sources such as GLEIF, Companies House and market data proxies.
- Create Tableau dashboards, management information and self-service analytics for Supervision teams, with a move toward reusable and automated reporting.
- Gather business requirements, run workshops and convert supervisory problems into analytical solutions, aligning competing needs through engagement and governance.
- Help develop future capability in automated reporting, advanced analytics, continuous monitoring and early-warning indicators for a mature supervisory intelligence function.
Essential Technical Skills
- Strong SQL ability and experience analysing large, complex datasets from multiple sources.
- Hands-on familiarity with AWS tools such as S3, DynamoDB and Athena.
- Experience building visual reports and dashboards in Tableau or Power BI.
- Capability in assessing, validating and improving data quality.
- Comfort working with both business and technical stakeholders.
- Background in regulatory or financial services data work.
Behavioural Expectations
- Highly proactive and able to drive work forward without close supervision.
- Strategic enough to operate across multiple business areas and build relationships quickly.
- Flexible and able to adapt rapidly when priorities or context change.
- Confident working in data-led environments and familiar with common challenges in large organisations.
- Able to reconcile different business demands into practical plans through workshops, engagement and governance.
Desirable Experience
- Familiarity with regulatory reporting frameworks or financial data reporting regimes.
Eligibility and Work Arrangement
