Tinder is dedicated to preserving the excitement of meeting new people. With a vast user base spanning over 190 countries, tens of millions of users, hundreds of millions of app downloads, and billions of daily swipes and matches, we are growing rapidly. Our work combines deep understanding of human relationships, behavioral science, AI and machine learning, network economics, and safety to deliver meaningful connections.

Our Core Values

  • Take the Lead: We consistently support one another and follow through on commitments.
  • Move Fast: Prioritize immediate action to accelerate progress.
  • Better Together: Collaboration is central to our success, reflecting the importance of connection both in dating and teamwork.
  • Real Talk: We communicate honestly with kindness and candor.
  • Safety First: Integrity and transparency guide us to create safe environments online and at work.
  • Spark Fun: Enjoyment fuels our creativity and innovation.

Role Overview

This pivotal position is key to shining a spotlight on Tinder's innovative product developments, including new features like IRL Events, Group Hangouts, and a refreshed brand identity. As Senior Communications Manager, you will craft compelling, data-driven narratives that connect product improvements to user benefits and cultural relevance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead communications strategies for major feature launches, collaborating closely with Product, Product Marketing, and Brand teams from concept through release.
  • Transform complex product details into engaging stories that resonate with consumers, highlighting how features improve dating experiences.
  • Identify insightful angles within Tinder’s product and behavioral data to create breakthrough media pitches.
  • Coordinate with Analytics to request and validate data, ensuring accuracy and compliance before public sharing.
  • Prepare and package narratives and data for PR agencies to manage outreach and media engagement.
  • Contribute communications expertise early in cross-functional launch planning to shape clear and compelling stories.
  • Develop and maintain direct relationships with the press, personally drafting pitches and responding to media inquiries.

Required Qualifications

  • Over five years of communications experience with a strong background in consumer technology product storytelling.
  • Proven ability to manage feature launch communications end-to-end with cross-functional teams.
  • Keen talent for recognizing the most newsworthy elements in roadmaps and data.
  • Deep understanding of evolving media landscapes, including podcasts and social media-focused journalism alongside traditional outlets.
  • Established media contacts and responsiveness to reporters’ requests.
  • Comfort engaging early and actively within Product and Marketing teams rather than reacting to finalized briefs.
  • Data literacy enabling the extraction of compelling narratives from complex behavioral and performance metrics.

Preferred Experience

  • Background in agency settings and enthusiasm for rapid company growth environments.
  • Experience navigating claims validation involving analytics or legal review in consumer technology contexts.
  • Ability to switch fluidly between feature-specific and broader cultural or brand stories.

Employee Benefits

  • Generous flexible vacation plus 10 sick days annually.
  • Volunteer time off and charitable donation matches up to $15,000 yearly.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance coverage.
  • Full 401(k) match up to 10% and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
  • Fully paid parental leave inclusive of all parents and family forming support.
  • Professional development support through mentorship, access to over 6,000 courses, and a $3,000 annual stipend.
  • Wellness benefits including mental health services, concierge medical membership, pet insurance, fitness subsidies, and commuter assistance.
  • Complimentary subscription to Tinder Gold.

Work Environment and Location

This role operates from the New York office with a hybrid work model requiring presence in office three days a week. Applicants based in NYC are preferred, though Los Angeles candidates may be considered.

Inclusion and Equal Opportunity

Tinder celebrates diversity and strives to create an inclusive workplace reflecting its global user base. All qualified applicants are encouraged to apply, and accommodations are available throughout the hiring process as needed.

Compensation

The base salary range for this position is $155,000 to $170,000 annually, adjusted based on experience, job-related skills, and market factors, with geographic adjustments applicable.
