Position Overview
The Safety Coordinator at Flatland Energy Services is responsible for fostering occupational health and safety awareness, actively eliminating risks by supervising operations, and upholding strict adherence to safety protocols. The role requires comprehensive knowledge of OSHA regulations, high analytical skills, diligence, and keen attention to potential hazards.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive transformation of the organization's safety culture and enhance overall safety performance.
- Conduct Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) inspections and audits in the field; identify risks and implement corrective measures while maintaining transparent communication with leadership.
- React promptly and appropriately to workplace accidents and incidents.
- Support management of contractor compliance platforms.
- Lead thorough investigations of incidents, collect relevant data, maintain updates in the incident management system, and prepare detailed accident/incident reports for clients.
- Travel to various operational sites to oversee safety initiatives collaboratively with field teams.
- Advise leadership to ensure timely and effective resolution of safety issues.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and resource for employees concerning occupational safety and environmental matters.
- Deliver safety training presentations in both classroom settings and on-site environments.
- Engage with personnel across all hierarchy levels, from entry-level workers to senior management.
- Exhibit strong multitasking abilities, teamwork orientation, adherence to supervisor directives, persistence, and meticulous attention to detail.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A degree or certification in a relevant discipline preferred.
- At least two years of experience in safety roles preferred.
- Minimum of one year in oil and gas or industrial environments or equivalent experience.
- Fluency in both English and Spanish is mandatory.
- Experience in drafting incident reports and safety policies advantageous.
- Demonstrated eagerness for professional growth and adaptability to evolving job demands.
- Highly motivated, focused, and proactive as a self-starter.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks efficiently, and meet deadlines.
- Capacity to collaborate effectively within team settings.
- Strong organizational and time management capabilities.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license and eligibility to operate company vehicles.
