About the Role
Dairymaster is hiring a full-time Robotics Engineer at their Global Headquarters in Causeway, Tralee, County Kerry, Ireland. This position involves leading the design, development, and integration of robotic systems that combine mechanical design, electronics, and intelligent software. The incumbent will ensure seamless interoperability between automated systems, control systems, robots, PLCs, and vision systems to produce an integrated and effective product.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and rigorously test robotic systems and their components
- Create control algorithms for robot manipulation, mobility, and navigation functions
- Implement robotics software utilizing appropriate development frameworks
- Integrate various sensors including LiDAR, cameras, IMUs, and force sensors along with actuators
- Develop perception and computer vision processing pipelines
- Simulate robotic systems using tools such as Gazebo, Isaac Sim, or Webots
- Work with embedded systems and platforms for real-time control
- Perform comprehensive system testing, debugging, and optimize performance
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams in mechanical, electrical, and software engineering domains
- Document design processes, experimental procedures, and technical decisions meticulously
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, Electrical, or Automation Engineering
- Minimum 3 years of practical experience in research & development, design, and integration roles
- Familiarity with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), especially Schneider EcoStruxure Machine Expert and basic ladder logic or equivalents
- Understanding of control systems, robotic kinematics and dynamics, motion planning, and sensor fusion
- Experience working in Linux development environments
- Knowledge of Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), such as Schneider EcoStruxure Operator terminal Expert or similar systems
- Programming expertise with robotics systems from manufacturers like KUKA (KUKA Robot Language - KRL)
- Proficiency in C# for control system programming
- Hands-on, safety-conscious engineering approach
- Strong familiarity with relevant robotics and automation industry standards
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to debug complex interactions between hardware and software elements
- Systems thinking with a multidisciplinary engineering perspective
- Effective communication skills for clear technical documentation
- Experience working in collaborative, fast-paced team environments
- Technical skills with LiDAR, IMUs, Python, C++, PyTorch or TensorFlow frameworks
- Experience with simulation tools like Gazebo or Isaac Sim, software version control with Git, and continuous integration pipelines
- Comfortable with MATLAB or Simulink for modeling and simulation tasks
