Research Engineer

About the Team

The Sea AI Lab (SAIL) at Sea group specializes in both fundamental and applied research in Artificial Intelligence, encompassing areas such as deep learning, reinforcement learning, computer vision, and natural language processing. Research engineers work closely with research scientists to develop innovative ideas, build prototypes, and conduct experiments, focusing particularly on implementing complex algorithms and scaling models.

Job Responsibilities

• Collaborate with research scientists to implement and optimize research code effectively.
• Scale deep learning models by implementing distributed computing techniques.
• Create reusable software libraries to support various research and engineering projects.
• Develop and enhance codebases aimed at potential product integration.
• Provide engineering support to the research team as needed.
• Engage with the wider open-source community and contribute to AI-related projects.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or above in AI-related disciplines, with PhD preferred.
• Proficient in programming languages such as Python and C/C++.
• Experience with deep learning frameworks including TensorFlow, PyTorch, and JAX.
• Familiarity with development tools like version control systems, build tools, and code review processes.
• Preferred: minimum three years of academic or industry experience in related AI areas.
• Preferred: active participation in open-source projects.
• Preferred: publications in AI conferences or journals.
• Preferred: accolades in programming competitions such as ACM-ICPC regional contests.
