Role overview
Beacon is looking for a Research Associate to join its Research Operations function in London. The role sits at the intersection of life sciences, competitive intelligence, and pharma/biotech data work, supporting a platform that helps pharmaceutical and biotechnology organisations make quicker, better-informed decisions using trusted data and AI-driven insight.
This position is well suited to a life sciences graduate with strong attention to detail, a genuine interest in scientific research, and a focus on data quality and process improvement. The package includes a base salary of £27,000 plus bonus, along with hybrid working.
What you will do
- Carry out quality checks on data covering drugs, clinical trials, deals, and companies.
- Spot errors or inconsistencies and give helpful feedback to internal colleagues.
- Help with data ingestion and ongoing curation activities.
- Support the preparation and distribution of newsletters, market intelligence updates, and conference summaries.
- Work alongside Research and Commercial teams to respond to customer and sales-related requests.
- Track scientific and business developments within the pharmaceutical sector.
- Own assigned datasets and maintain continuity when other team members are unavailable.
- Suggest practical improvements that raise efficiency, strengthen processes, and enhance data quality.
What we are looking for
- A BSc degree or higher in a Life Sciences subject.
- Careful, detail-focused working style with a strong commitment to accuracy.
- A curious, proactive mindset and willingness to learn.
- Strong written communication and organisational ability.
- Comfort managing several priorities while meeting deadlines.
- Interest in drug development, clinical research, or the broader pharmaceutical industry.
- Exposure to the commercial or financial side of drug development is helpful, though not required.

Location and working arrangement
The role is based in London and follows a hybrid model. One office day each week is mandatory, two days per week are encouraged, and during the first six months of probation the expectation is two office days per week. Flexible working arrangements are also available.
Compensation
Base salary is £27,000 per year, plus bonus.
