Recreation Experience Expert

Job Overview

The role is a key resource responsible for managing and facilitating all recreational activities offered within the property. This includes providing guests with detailed information about available recreation facilities such as pools, beaches, entertainment rooms, gyms, and children's activity centers. The expert is expected to motivate, recruit, register, and organize guests' participation in recreational activities, fostering a fun and relaxing environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Inform guests about recreational facilities and opportunities.
• Encourage and coordinate guest involvement in recreational events.
• Promote and enforce facility rules to ensure safety and wellbeing.
• Monitor recreational areas and respond appropriately to emergencies following standard procedures.
• Operate as a cashier in recreational areas where point-of-sale transactions occur.
• Support private group functions or events held in recreation facilities.
• Alert supervisors or managers regarding any unsafe or unsuitable activities for guests.
• Provide first aid assistance to injured guests until medical professionals arrive.
• Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of recreational equipment, supplies, and spaces.
• Report accidents, unsafe conditions, or injuries to management promptly.
• Complete required safety training and certifications.
• Uphold company policies, maintain professional grooming and confidentiality, and protect company assets.
• Greet and serve guests warmly, anticipate needs, assist disabled persons, and show genuine appreciation.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with guests and colleagues, including proper telephone etiquette.
• Collaborate constructively with the team to meet common objectives.
• Handle payment processing for equipment rentals, recreational activities, and retail sales.
• Ensure adherence to high-quality service standards and company expectations.
• Perform visual inspections of equipment and safety information.
• Use computer systems including point-of-sale systems for work-related information management.
• Capable of standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods and performing physical tasks including lifting and moving items (up to 25 lbs independently, more with assistance).
• Operate safely in diverse and potentially challenging environments, including elevated, confined, or uneven spaces.
• Complete other reasonable duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Certifications

• Certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
• First aid certification.
• Knowledge and experience with recreational and physical training equipment.
• Compliance with all required local and state certifications or training.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent General Educational Development (GED) certificate preferred. No prior related work or supervisory experience is necessary.
