Role Overview and Responsibilities
The R&D Lab Technician will be responsible for testing, debugging, and qualifying hardware according to company and customer standards. This role involves adapting and integrating existing hardware designs to meet new client requirements, overseeing hardware technical documentation, and preparing design reviews. The technician will handle end-to-end design tasks including schematics creation, testing, and validation through rapid prototyping methods. Supporting hardware engineers in prototyping electronics such as PCB assembly and qualification is a key element, along with analyzing technical challenges for corrective and improvement solutions.
Additional duties include performing endurance and validation tests on LED drivers and LED lights, developing and implementing test plans to gather characterization data for design validation, participating in product conceptualization, detailed engineering, documentation, and test plan formulation. The technician will also create and release system-level PCB drawings and bills of materials (BOM), as well as conduct comprehensive benchmarking of competing products.
Candidate Qualifications and Skills
Applicants should possess an ITI or Diploma in Electronics or an equivalent qualification. A minimum of 2 years of experience is preferred, especially in testing and validation of electronics, but fresh graduates are also encouraged to apply. Candidates must have a solid understanding of analog electronic fundamentals, basic knowledge of electronic components and their packaging.
Desirable skills include familiarity with circuit simulations using Pspice, testing and troubleshooting of PCB assemblies, hands-on experience with PCB CAD tools or CAD capture CIS, proficiency in designing single-sided and double-sided PCB layouts, and skillful use of testing instruments such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, power supplies, network analyzers, and spectrometers.
