Job Summary
The QC Packer role for the first shift focuses on inspecting finished products for quality compliance, packing goods securely, labeling accurately, and maintaining a safe, tidy workspace. This role requires collaboration with the production team to meet order schedules and may involve training newer employees on quality and packing protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Examine finished products carefully to detect defects or damages, ensuring adherence to defined quality standards.
- Implement measuring tools and visual inspections to validate product consistency and quality.
- Report any non-conformities in materials or products promptly to supervisors.
- Package approved products neatly and securely for storage or shipment.
- Apply proper labeling based on customer needs and internal guidelines.
- Maintain consistent compliance with safety and quality procedures.
- Coordinate with production staff to fulfill orders timely and efficiently.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and free from hazards.
- Support the onboarding and training of new team members in quality control and packing processes as needed.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Previous manufacturing facility experience is preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail with a strong dedication to product quality.
- Ability to comprehend and interpret work instructions, labels, and product specifications accurately.
- Basic mathematical and computer skills to assist in recordkeeping and labeling tasks.
- Capability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team.
- Physical fitness to stand, bend, lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly, squat, and perform repetitive tasks for extended durations.
- Flexibility to cross-train and provide support across different work areas.
- Willingness and ability to perform kneeing, squatting, and bending activities throughout shifts.
Physical Demands
The role involves prolonged standing, walking, and occasional sitting. Effective verbal communication and sensory abilities (vision and hearing) are essential. The job requires fine hand manipulations, and frequent bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching. The environment includes close proximity to moving machinery and exposure to temperature and humidity variations.
Work Environment
This position is primarily warehouse-based with some outdoor exposure during shifts. It involves the use of typical office tools (computers, phones, photocopiers) alongside warehouse equipment (hand trucks, box cutters, tape dispensers).
