Project Manager/Senior Project Manager - Data Centres

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager or Senior Project Manager specializing in Data Centres to direct and oversee intricate projects and programs. This role requires handling client engagement, coordinating design and execution phases, managing risks, budgets, timelines, and ensuring safety and environmental compliance. You will also contribute to marketing and business development efforts and work closely on vendor coordination and contract management.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage complex projects and programs while serving as the primary client liaison.
• Establish productive working relationships, proactively solve issues, and drive projects to timely completion.
• Oversee design processes ensuring client requirements and expectations are met effectively.
• Review project documentation including plans, specifications, and schedules to identify discrepancies or potential issues.
• Ensure adherence to project safety standards and environmental protocols.
• Manage project timelines, assess risks, and maintain comprehensive reporting.
• Control project budgets and offer solutions to keep expenditures within limits.
• Engage actively in marketing and business development initiatives aligned with company growth.
• Coordinate vendor scopes related to overall project delivery ensuring alignment and efficiency.
• Draft and process contract documents accurately and promptly, collaborating with project teams according to legal templates.
• Utilize strong communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills to facilitate project success.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• In-depth technical knowledge of Data Centre infrastructure components such as HVAC, Electrical systems, Generators, Fire safety, Security, and Building Management Systems (BMS).
• Possess professional or tertiary qualifications in project management, engineering, or construction disciplines.
• Minimum of 5 to 10 years’ experience managing projects, preferably within Data Centres or similarly technical environments.
• Comprehensive understanding of complete project lifecycle from inception, design phases, authority approvals through to completion and post-evaluation.
• Strong familiarity with core project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
• Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure, fast-paced settings.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is essential; knowledge of Primavera software is highly desirable.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, including report and bid writing competency.
• High motivation, client-focused attitude, and commitment to delivering quality results.
