About the Role
Morgan Hunter is collaborating with a growing professional services firm seeking a Project Manager to join their team. This position fits a seasoned project manager who thrives on overseeing multifaceted event projects, managing logistical details, and engaging directly with clients in a dynamic setting.
The role encompasses a specialized mix of project oversight, event coordination, and travel, involving teamwork with an innovative, close-knit group. Preference is given to candidates based in the Kansas City area, although applicants residing elsewhere in the Midwest with accessible airport connections will be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Simultaneously oversee various projects from initial planning stages to successful completion
- Organize logistics including venues, vendor relations, travel arrangements, equipment, and project materials
- Create and manage event project schedules, budgets, and track expenditures
- Facilitate participant recruitment and supervise all project deliverables
- Maintain accurate project files, spreadsheets, and progress reports
- Travel as needed to provide on-site support for events; resolve issues promptly to ensure smooth execution
- Handle inventory control, shipping logistics, and technological preparations for upcoming events
- Suggest and implement process enhancements to support ongoing operational improvements
Qualifications & Requirements
- Willingness and ability to travel two to three times monthly, including occasional evening and weekend commitments
- At least two years of project management experience, ideally within event planning, research, or client service sectors
- Strong organizational capabilities with effective multitasking and deadline management skills
- Proven background in managing events, logistics, or complex project coordination
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
- Exceptional communication, problem-solving aptitude, and client service orientation
- Self-driven, composed under pressure, and thrives on collaboration within team environments
