Project Manager

Overview

Robert Half Technology is collaborating with a client in the insurance and travel sectors to find an experienced Contract Technical Project Manager. The role focuses on introducing structured governance and standardization to multiple enterprise-level technology projects, while also enhancing the maturity of the organization's Project Management Office (PMO).

Contract Details

• Engagement: Long-term contract with possibilities for extension
• Location: Bellevue, Washington, in a hybrid work setting
• Compensation: Up to $70 per hour

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee several simultaneous technology projects from initiation through to completion.
• Collaborate with business leaders, stakeholders, and technical teams to establish project scope, priority, timelines, and define success criteria.
• Conduct stakeholder workshops to gather requirements, identify essential stakeholders, and ensure alignment on project goals.
• Build and nurture cross-functional partnerships fostering cooperation between business and IT units.
• Create and manage project documentation including plans, schedules, milestones, risk logs, issue trackers, and executive-level status reports.
• Implement streamlined project management processes, develop templates, and enforce governance models to enhance PMO uniformity.
• Provide leadership and stakeholders with regular updates on project status, risks, dependencies, and advise on corrective actions.
• Work alongside Data Architects, Engineers, Infrastructure teams, and other technical personnel to aid planning and execution phases.
• Define business value and return on investment during project initiation to align initiatives with strategic organizational objectives.
• Promote accountability for project outputs, timelines, and decision-making across various workstreams.

Candidate Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years experience managing enterprise technology projects.
• Proven ability to handle multiple concurrent initiatives in dynamic and fast-paced environments.
• Demonstrated skills in stakeholder management, facilitation, and relationship building.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams comprising both business and technical members.
• Effective communication and collaboration with technical experts such as Data Architects, Engineers, and Infrastructure professionals.
• Competency in creating project plans, governance frameworks, templates, and executive reporting mechanisms.
• Strong knowledge of project lifecycle phases including initiation, planning, risk management, and delivery methodologies.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical problem-solving capabilities.
• Capacity to influence and align teams without formal authority.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in establishing or advancing PMO processes and governance standards.
• Experience in enterprise technology projects involving infrastructure, data, analytics, or application implementations.
• Familiarity with insurance, financial services, or travel domains considered advantageous.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification is desirable.
