About Studio Sabat

Studio Sabat is a small, fast-growing boutique residential architecture firm based in Sydney, specialising in high-end residential alterations, additions, new constructions, and interiors. We prioritise clients who focus on how they live in their spaces rather than just aesthetics. Our current team includes a Principal Architect, Architectural Designer, Head of Operations, and Head of Marketing. We operate intentionally small to ensure meaningful leadership roles within each project.

Role Overview

As a Project Architect at Studio Sabat, you will run your projects independently from start to finish rather than assisting or supporting others. The role involves leading client meetings, presenting design concepts, managing technical standards, and mentoring junior staff. You will actively work on Revit models, construction details, coordination with consultants, council interactions, site meetings, and contract administration during construction phases.

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of architectural projects, handling every stage end-to-end.
• Engage directly with clients, delivering presentations, and managing challenging discussions.
• Review and mentor junior designers, establishing technical and quality standards.
• Create and refine Revit models, detailed documentation, and construction drawings.
• Coordinate with consultants and respond to council requests for information (RFIs).
• Lead site meetings and manage contract administration including variations and construction RFIs.
• Collaborate with the Principal Architect on concepts, ensuring designs are practical and aesthetically coherent.

• Daily commuting into a large downtown office and working as a small part of a large organisation.
• Waiting years to take the lead on projects.
• Working on someone else's concepts indefinitely.

Candidate Profile

• Near or fully registered as an Architect in New South Wales.
• Possess 5 to 8 years of post-graduate professional experience.
• Confident managing client interactions, design meetings, and presenting concepts effectively.
• Advanced proficiency in Revit with hands-on experience for all documentation.
• Comfortable working with a range of high-end residential clients, understanding the distinctions between different project scales and budgets.
• Strong integrated design skills encompassing both interiors and exteriors, leading all design aspects.
• Legal working rights in Australia.

What We Offer

• Competitive salary range between $100,000 and $130,000 plus superannuation, depending on experience and registration status.
