Role Overview

Product Managers at ai71 work within cross-functional squads comprising engineers and designers, each responsible end-to-end for a portion of the product. Candidates may take on different types of ownership, including managing a squad’s slice, pioneering new product initiatives from the ground up (0→1), or a forward-deployed position closely working with customers inside their environments to tailor solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop prototypes and working proofs of concept using AI coding agents to quickly validate ideas.
• Take full ownership of product lifecycle from discovery, PRD creation, prioritization, to delivery and impact measurement.
• Define and implement rigorous evaluation criteria for agent quality, including test case creation and quality measurement to ensure reliability in production.
• Stay continually informed about the AI industry’s rapid advances, selecting whether to build, integrate, or adopt emerging technologies appropriately.
• Navigate complex deployment conditions such as on-premise, air-gapped networks, sovereign cloud, and multi-lingual and security-sensitive environments.
• Collaborate across squads to coordinate multi-squad product pushes focused on customer benefits.
• Maintain close communication with government and enterprise clients to incorporate real-world feedback into the product roadmap.

Candidate Profile

• Over 5 years of product experience combined with a strong technical foundation, such as a computer science or engineering degree or prior hands-on software, data, or machine learning engineering roles.
• Experience shipping ML or large language model-based products with an understanding of challenges like hallucination, model drift, latency, cost, and prompt injection.
• Skilled in probabilistic systems and comfortable interpreting data through SQL and instrumentation without needing intermediaries.
• Experience engaging with enterprise, regulated, or public-sector customers is advantageous; knowledge of Arabic, agent and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) evaluation, or forward-deployed roles is a plus.
• Demonstrated builder mentality with ownership of products or projects taken from concept to real user adoption.
• Strong technical instincts, frequently using AI coding agents as part of daily workflow.
• Excellent product judgment able to differentiate between genuinely complex challenges and perceived difficulty, focusing on impactful deliverables.
• Ability to navigate diverse stakeholder interests, adapting positions thoughtfully when presented with new evidence.
• Clear communication skills to distill ambiguous problems into actionable plans for engineering squads.
