Overview
The Procurement Specialist is instrumental in advancing Mowasalat Qatar's mission to provide agile, secure, and sustainable transportation solutions. This role ensures timely, efficient, and economical acquisition of goods and services by managing all procurement processes and nurturing supplier relationships. Additionally, the position supports inventory oversight, compliance, risk management, and continuous enhancement of procurement operations while safeguarding sensitive information.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage procurement operations including verification and processing of purchase requisitions in compliance with company protocols.
- Conduct vendor selection considering price, quality, quantity, and delivery to optimize cost-effectiveness.
- Create and oversee purchase orders ensuring prompt supply and reduction of procurement risks.
- Build and maintain strategic supplier partnerships to foster effective collaboration and mutual benefit.
- Negotiate contracts to attain favorable conditions and terms.
- Facilitate supplier performance evaluations and support supplier development initiatives.
- Assist in inventory management to balance stock availability with cost efficiency.
- Track and analyze inventory movements to identify improvement opportunities.
- Enforce accurate inventory records aligned with compliance and risk mitigation standards.
- Ensure adherence to organizational and regulatory procurement policies.
- Identify procurement risks and apply strategies to mitigate operational disruptions.
- Support enactment of business continuity plans to maintain procurement operations under all conditions.
- Prepare and deliver comprehensive procurement performance and market analysis reports.
- Use data analysis to detect trends and suggest process enhancements.
- Develop and monitor key procurement performance indicators aligned with organizational goals.
- Maintain strict confidentiality to protect sensitive business data.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or related discipline.
- A minimum of seven years’ experience working in procurement or a similar sector.
- Preferred certifications include Certified Procurement Professional (CPP), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), or equivalent procurement/supply chain certifications.
