Role Overview
The Procurement & Contracts Specialist will oversee procurement activities, coordinate with suppliers, and handle contract management to support the development and manufacturing of aerospace propulsion programs. Responsibilities include sourcing technical materials and services, negotiating contract terms, and ensuring on-time delivery while adhering to company and industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage procurement of aerospace engine components, precision-machined parts, tooling, raw materials, and engineering services.
- Develop and oversee requests for quotations (RFQs), purchase orders, contracts, and supplier agreements.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, quality, manufacturing, and program teams to understand and fulfill technical procurement needs.
- Negotiate pricing structures, delivery schedules, lead times, and payment terms effectively.
- Track supplier performance, monitor delivery status, and identify procurement risks.
- Assist in supplier qualification processes and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
- Maintain accurate procurement documentation and generate reports using ERP systems such as SAP and Oracle.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, export controls, and aerospace quality requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Five to eight years of experience in procurement or contract management within aerospace, defense, aviation, or advanced manufacturing sectors.
- Previous experience working in technically driven engineering environments is advantageous.
Technical & Professional Skills
- Comprehensive understanding of procurement and contract management processes.
- Proficiency with ERP software platforms such as SAP and Oracle.
- Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes and technical documentation.
- Strong negotiation capabilities and supplier relationship management skills.
- Advanced skills in MS Excel and procurement-related reporting.
