About the Role

We are seeking an experienced procurement professional to join a reputable organisation based in Canberra, with strong governance and accountability requirements. In this role, you will act as a trusted advisor to business leadership, enhancing procurement capabilities and delivering commercially advantageous results. You will contribute to fostering competitive procurement processes and generating value across various procurement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with key stakeholders to pinpoint procurement opportunities and ensure commercially viable outcomes.
• Offer expert consultancy on procurement methodologies, market engagement, and sourcing strategies.
• Review and negotiate contracts to secure beneficial commercial terms while minimizing risks.
• Encourage competition and optimize value throughout procurement operations.
• Enhance procurement skills and knowledge throughout the organisation via coaching and education.
• Manage complete procurement processes across multiple categories.
• Approach complex or uncertain procurement issues with confidence and innovative thinking.
• Assist in the ongoing refinement of procurement policies, frameworks, and standards.

Candidate Requirements

• Proven expertise in procurement, sourcing, commercial management, or contract administration.
• Strong business insight with the capability to interpret contracts, assess risks, and identify value-adding opportunities.
• Experience in advising senior management on strategic procurement matters.
• Outstanding communication and persuasive skills to build reliable stakeholder relationships.
• Ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities, and oversee your own procurement portfolio.
• A proactive, solution-driven mindset adaptable to dynamic or ambiguous situations.
• Experience in technology-related procurement is highly desirable.
