About the College and Role
St Ursula's College in Yeppoon, Queensland, is an independent Catholic boarding and day school for girls in Years 7-12, expecting an enrolment of 700 students in 2027. The College has a proud Presentation heritage and is well known for its commitment to faith, educational excellence, and the comprehensive development of each student. The Board is seeking an outstanding Catholic educational leader to take on the Principal role starting January 2027, following the current Principal's departure after six years of strong leadership.

The successful candidate will lead a vibrant Catholic learning community characterized by excellent student outcomes, a dedicated staff, strong enrolment demand, and a culture of faith and compassion. The role involves strategic vision, authentic leadership, fostering innovation, building relationships, and guiding continuous improvement, collaborating closely with an experienced Board and Leadership Team.
Eligibility Criteria
- Active practicing Catholic.
- Postgraduate qualifications in Education, Leadership, Religious Education, Theology, or related fields.
- Current Queensland teacher registration or eligibility for registration.
- Proven substantial senior leadership experience within Catholic education.
- Legal eligibility to work in Australia.

- Strong commitment and leadership in the Catholic tradition and Presentation charism.
- Insight into current and emerging educational trends with the capacity to lead innovation and academic excellence.
- Expertise in implementing strategic initiatives that impact student progress, focusing on education for young women.
- Dedication to the safety and wellbeing of students, families, and staff, including boarding community considerations.
- Demonstrated ability to cultivate positive, collaborative relationships within the College, other schools, and education authorities.
- Well-versed in governance, legislative, financial, and compliance matters relevant to independent Catholic secondary education.
