About the Role
A fast-growing, Berlin-based enterprise AI platform startup is looking for a Platform Engineer to help build and maintain the backbone of their multi-tenant SaaS infrastructure. Founded in 2023 and backed by notable investors, the company serves thousands of enterprise customers and is scaling rapidly. You'll be a critical hire on a small, high-calibre team, working on-site in Berlin.
This role sits at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, DevOps, and security — partnering closely with both internal Product Engineers and external customer IT teams to enable reliable, compliant, and scalable AI deployments across diverse cloud environments.
Visa sponsorship is available for this role.
What You'll Do
Manage and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, building, and deployment
Deploy and maintain the platform across multiple customer cloud environments, including GCP, AWS, Azure, and OpenShift
Automate infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Bicep)
Monitor and optimize application performance and infrastructure costs
Ensure security and compliance standards are upheld across all cloud environments
Collaborate with Product Engineers to support the rollout of new features
Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and deployment issues promptly
Document deployment processes and maintain runbooks for different customer environments
What We're Looking For
Must-haves:
3+ years of software or platform engineering experience
Native-level German or minimum B2 German proficiency — required for direct customer communications with enterprise IT teams
Proven hands-on experience with platform-level engineering responsibilities (deployment, infrastructure ops, reliability)
Experience deploying and operating enterprise platforms across Azure, AWS, GCP, and/or OpenShift
Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Azure Container Apps, and GitHub Actions
Experience with PostgreSQL and Redis in production environments
Solid understanding of security best practices in cloud deployments
Strong CS fundamentals and ability to implement and uphold platform reliability standards
Nice to have:
Experience with infrastructure cost optimisation and observability tooling
Familiarity with Bicep for Azure infrastructure automation
Background working with enterprise customers or in a customer-facing infrastructure capacity
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: €75,000 – €120,000 per year, depending on experience
Visa sponsorship available
Opportunity to join a small, high-impact engineering team at an early stage
Work on cutting-edge enterprise AI infrastructure used by thousands of organisations
Location
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Berlin, Germany. Candidates must be able to work from the Berlin office.
