Job description
Role Overview
Joining the Resource Development Department at Singapore Red Cross, you will play a critical role in supporting and expanding our Social Enterprise initiatives. Your key duties focus on managing in-kind donation logistics, coordinating volunteer efforts, fostering community partnerships, and providing operational backing across fundraising and retail activities.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of in-kind donation logistics including coordinating collection schedules, organizing vehicle bookings, overseeing inventory movement and distribution planning.
- Serve as liaison between donors and internal teams to clarify collection details, schedules, and logistical needs.
- Ensure proper reception, documentation, tracking, and allocation of donated items with accurate reporting on all logistics operations.
- Lead volunteer teams by scheduling, motivating, and supervising their participation in collections, retail operations, and events.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with corporate and community organizations to enhance donation programs and event collaborations.
- Support retail activities at Red Cross Shops, including inventory management, merchandising, pricing strategies, and customer experience improvements.
- Assist in the creation of revenue-generating social enterprise activities such as themed sales, pop-up events, and bazaars.
- Prepare comprehensive operational and performance reports, ensuring adherence to internal procurement, financial, and administrative policies.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum educational requirement is GCE O-Level or equivalent.
- Experience in logistics coordination, operations, inventory management, retail, social enterprise, or nonprofit sectors is desirable.
- Proven ability in supervising or coordinating volunteers is beneficial.
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Highly organized, flexible, and capable of juggling multiple operational demands.
- Strong business acumen combined with a dedication to humanitarian and social causes.
- Basic proficiency in logistics coordination and administrative tasks.
- Comfortable with practical operational roles including event setups.
- Possession of a valid Class 3 or 3A driving license is an advantage but not mandatory.
Working Conditions
- Full-time position requiring a five-day workweek.
- Working hours from 9:00am to 6:00pm.
- Work schedule includes four weekdays plus every Sunday, with rest days on Saturday and one other weekday.
- Flexibility to work on public holidays or adjust schedules as operationally necessary.
- Availability for extended hours during events and peak periods is expected.
