Position Overview
Join Compass Health Network as a Network Engineer I, contributing to maintaining the robust, secure technology infrastructure that supports healthcare services. This remote role is available exclusively to residents of Missouri. You will collaborate with a dedicated IT team to ensure reliable network connectivity, support daily operations, and enhance network performance across multiple sites.
Work Schedule
Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm.
Primary Responsibilities
- Maintain, configure, and optimize enterprise-level network hardware including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless devices, and security appliances.
- Support infrastructure design, capacity planning, and execute network improvements.
- Monitor network health, troubleshoot issues, and uphold system availability.
- Ensure network security through routine maintenance, backups, disaster recovery preparations, and adherence to best security practices.
- Research and assess emerging network technologies, products, and services to facilitate future advancements.
- Collaborate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams on network-related projects and services.
- Maintain comprehensive network documentation, technical specifications, and asset records.
- Manage user account permissions and access as required.
- Recommend and assist with network upgrades, repairs, and performance optimization.
- Guide and support colleagues while ensuring compliance with privacy, confidentiality, and information security standards.
Educational and Experience Requirements
- Minimum of High School diploma or GED; Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline is preferred.
- Preferably three years of equivalent professional experience.
Technical Skills and Knowledge
- In-depth expertise with routing and switching protocols.
- Strong familiarity with configuration and deployment of Cisco/Meraki, HP, Aruba, Velocloud, and Fortinet equipment and software.
- Advanced understanding of network security configurations and standards.
- Proficient at diagnosing and resolving complex network problems.
- Capable of conducting research on networking issues and new technologies.
Additional Qualifications
- Ability to prioritize effectively under pressure.
- Experience working collaboratively within team environments.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license with minimum agency-required automobile insurance coverage.
- Cisco Networking certification (CCNA) or equivalent experience is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts clearly to varied audiences.
- Highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
