Position Overview
The Millwright plays an essential role in advancing continuous maintenance improvements by applying troubleshooting techniques and preventive maintenance practices daily.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain equipment used in manufacturing such as pumps, conveyors, compressors, mechanical components, rollers, chains, bearings, and hydraulic systems.
- Manage maintenance costs effectively.
- Supervise contractors working on site.
- Utilize Maximo and other computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Learn and apply Product Data Management (PDM) software and undergo reliability training.
- Implement preventive maintenance schedules for machinery.
- Interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematics to guide equipment repairs.
- Operate hoisting and lifting devices to position parts and machinery during assembly, installation, setup, and repairs.
- Use fall protection equipment while working in elevated manlifts.
- Maintain and assemble hydraulic machinery and cylinders.
- Verify and document all repair activities accurately.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols including use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Candidate Profile
- Holds a valid Inter-Provincial or Provincial Journeyperson Millwright certification, or is an Apprentice about to enter the 4th year of millwrighting training.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to collaborate with diverse tradespeople and team members.
- Dedication to creating and maintaining a safe work environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts including days, nights, and weekends.
