About Racecourse Media Group
Racecourse Media Group (RMG) is a leading entity managing media rights across 35 racecourses involved with Racing TV channels (Sky 424, Virgin 536 and 411, Freeview and Youview 261), GBI Racing platforms, and the Racecourse Data Company, which licenses pre-race data. Sports Information Services distributes content from 37 racecourses to Licensed Betting Offices in the UK and Ireland.
Role Purpose and Overview
This opportunity involves joining RMG’s Engineering & Media Management team at their broadcast facility in Ealing, West London. You will engage in various archive and digital media processing activities, handling multiple media formats with comprehensive on-the-job training provided. The role suits individuals seeking entry into the horse racing or broadcast media sectors and demands both team collaboration and independent work capability.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure smooth operation of media workflows and systems.
- Support a project digitizing historic video tape archives.
- Serve as the initial contact for technical issue logging, coordinating with Master Control Room and Technical Manager.
- Manage media assets during busy periods including weekends and outside standard hours.
- Implement media retention schedules and adhere to storage protocols.
- Log detailed metadata and verify all archival media within the RMG Media Asset Management system.
- Assist with archive needs for ITV Racing.
- Handle commercial media requests as needed.
Performance Measures
- Complete tasks by established deadlines.
- Follow RMG’s media management standards and procedures.
- Meet expectations of internal and external customers.
Qualifications and Experience
- Relevant further education qualification in media or engineering-related fields.
- Desirably, some experience in media/broadcast environments or administrative office roles utilizing MS Office.

Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with media location and daily live broadcast processes.
- Understanding of FTP and ingesting video idents and ads.
- Experience with logging metadata and managing nearline media libraries.
- Knowledge of EVS and IP Director Workstations.
- Support experience for IPD, EVS, and editing software such as Adobe or Final Cut Pro.
- Handling ingest of rushes from SxS Card, XD CAM, and similar media sources.

Salary & Working Conditions
- Annual salary between £29,000 and £31,000 plus benefits.
