Role Summary

The Management Accountant position is a full-time, on-site role in Birmingham tasked with delivering accurate and timely financial information critical for decision-making. Key responsibilities include preparing management accounts, budget monitoring, forecast evaluation, and creating variance analyses for senior management. The role demands maintaining and reviewing financial statements along with overseeing accruals and prepayments to ensure financial records remain current and comply with accounting standards. Collaboration with operational teams to interpret financial outcomes, highlight cost-saving measures, and assist in planning and performance evaluations is essential. Additional duties include helping with year-end procedures, audit support, and enhancing financial controls and reporting systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Compile management accounts and generate financial reports.
• Keep accurate financial records and supporting accounting documentation.
• Provide support for payroll processing, budgeting activities, and VAT record maintenance.
• Conduct stock costing and financial analyses.
• Maintain HACCP records and food safety compliance documentation.
• Assist in ensuring regulatory compliance and prepare business reports.
• Carry out other relevant duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

• Master's degree in Finance and Accounting with proven experience in management accounting and financial controls.
• Strong expertise in preparing and reviewing financial statements and managing accruals and period-end adjustments.
• Proficient with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, and Microsoft Excel including advanced functions like formulas, pivot tables, and creating financial models.
• Effective communication and organizational capabilities.
