Maintenance Technician

Position Overview

This full-time Maintenance Technician role at a luxury hotel in Doha requires responding to guest repair requests promptly, communicating effectively with guests to resolve issues, and performing preventive maintenance on various kitchen, mechanical, and hotel equipment. The technician will inspect equipment visually, carry necessary tools, operate utility shut-off valves, manage inventory for maintenance parts, and communicate shift activities clearly.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to and resolve guest maintenance requests promptly and courteously.
• Conduct preventive maintenance including cleaning and lubrication on kitchen and mechanical equipment.
• Inspect tools and equipment for functionality and safety.
• Manage maintenance inventory and requisition parts as needed.
• Use approved communication methods to report daily activities and issues between shifts.
• Possess or acquire basic skills in air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic controls, carpentry, finish skills, kitchen equipment maintenance, vehicle upkeep, energy conservation, and general building maintenance.
• Perform surface preparation, painting, drywall and wood trim repairs, replace light bulbs and air conditioning filters, and thoroughly clean work areas.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment including plumbing, electrical fixtures, vacuum cleaners, internet devices, and other guestroom items.
• Program televisions and manage housekeeping and engineering-related inventory tasks.
• Follow Lockout/Tagout safety procedures before performing maintenance.
• Conduct interior and exterior landscaping repairs including sprinkler systems.
• Demonstrate basic computer skills for inputting schedules and adjusting temperatures.
• Adhere to all company safety, security protocols, and complete required training and certifications.
• Maintain professional appearance and confidentiality, follow quality standards, and foster positive teamwork.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds unaided and handling heavier objects with assistance; comfortable with stair, ladder, and overhead work.
• Perform additional job duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
• Some experience in general maintenance, surface preparation, and painting.
• Experience in hotel engineering or maintenance is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license is required.
• No supervisory experience required.
