Role Overview
The Maintenance Coordinator in Field Services plays a vital role in supporting maintenance operations across Vector’s electricity network. This position involves meticulous record-keeping, coordinating communications with customers and contractors, and facilitating the safe, reliable, and efficient progression of maintenance tasks. Collaboration with senior managers, field service teams, and internal departments is essential, with responsibilities extending to monitoring activities, managing inquiries, overseeing meetings, and maintaining data in systems such as SharePoint, SAP, and GIS.
Key Responsibilities
This role directly impacts network performance and customer value by ensuring effective maintenance delivery. Key duties include invoice verification, compliance and quality assurance through documentation and photographic evidence, and engagement with customers and property owners. The position offers opportunities to enhance processes, minimize rework, and pave the way toward broader operational and project-based roles within the organization.
The coordinator also facilitates maintenance-related tasks ranging from contractor submissions and reinstatement issues to regulatory pole monitoring, easement and consent applications, and handling complex customer communications. Identifying process gaps, escalating concerns appropriately, and creating clear operational procedures for consistency and efficiency are vital parts of this role.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Excellent organizational and coordination skills to independently handle maintenance scheduling, documentation, contractor communication, and customer inquiries.
- Proficient in systems and data management, with strong skills in Microsoft Office and Excel to retrieve, manipulate, and present data; familiarity with SAP, GIS, or Siebel systems is advantageous.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical, numerical, and process management abilities for invoice auditing, compliance tracking, quality control, and record-keeping.
- Effective communication and relationship-building skills, capable of engaging confidently with contractors, field staff, customers, property owners, and internal teams, including the ability to professionally address discrepancies in information or claims.
- A proactive and responsible approach focused on continuous improvement, clear process documentation, meeting support, task prioritization, tracking outcomes, and proposing practical enhancements.
