Role Overview

The Learning & Development Manager drives a culture focused on ongoing learning across the property. Collaborating with department leaders, this role identifies development needs, crafts tailored training programs, and supports organizational advancement via effective learning initiatives. The manager benchmarks outcomes, performs comprehensive needs assessments, and designs innovative solutions to close performance gaps and enhance leadership skills.

Responsibilities also include managing training calendars, evaluating the impact of programs, overseeing resources and budgets, and facilitating property-wide change efforts to boost employee engagement and service excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead and co-facilitate orientation and core training programs such as Embark, Service Foundations, Leadership Behaviors, NLO, GROW, and mandatory compliance sessions.
• Ensure new managers are equipped to succeed through the New Leader Orientation during their initial 90 days.
• Maintain a robust Designated Trainer program and oversee standards training with regular updates to manuals and checklist submissions for new hires.
• Partner with management to identify performance gaps and recommend effective interventions, including training when appropriate.
• Coach managers to consistently conduct relevant training within their teams.
• Coordinate compliance and safety training in collaboration with People & Culture or department heads.
• Facilitate management development programs and support managers in crafting development plans focused on experiential learning.
• Guarantee structured program completion with defined learning objectives for college recruits.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years in a managerial position.
• Background in adult education, training, learning and development, or a similar discipline.
• Experience in luxury hospitality or service-oriented hotel operations preferred.
• Proven leadership skills, with the ability to coach diverse teams across cultures and backgrounds.
• Excellent facilitation, presentation, communication, and organizational abilities.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional and educational experience.
• Strong enthusiasm for people development and enhancing employee experiences.
