Lead Database Administrator

Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Database Team Lead skilled in managing complex database ecosystems. This role demands technical excellence along with leadership to guarantee optimal database performance, availability, and continuous enhancements.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and optimize database systems to ensure consistent high availability, performance, and security.
• Manage setup and maintenance of PRE-PROD, UAT, and PROD environments effectively.
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Level I and Level II DBAs, facilitating knowledge dissemination and performance improvement.
• Implement a rigorous maker-checker policy, evaluating all database changes for risk, impact, and compliance.
• Direct database-related projects, aligning technical outcomes with organizational goals.
• Champion process improvements through automation, standardization, and optimization.
• Maintain conformance with security guidelines, best practices, and mandated reporting.
• Manage incidents, perform root cause analysis, and deliver timely solutions, including after-hours support when necessary.

Candidate Profile

• 7 to 10 years of extensive experience in database administration with a focus on Oracle.
• Hands-on proficiency with Oracle databases, GoldenGate replication, JBoss middleware, Unix systems, and Red Hat Linux.
• Strong sense of ownership and reliability, with accountability for all deliverables.
• Readiness to provide on-call support for urgent database issues.
• Clear communication skills, with a proven track record of meeting commitments.
• Experienced in thorough documentation and drive for automation implementations.
• Proactive and adaptive attitude towards technological advancements and innovations.
• Dedication to sharing knowledge and enhancing team skills.
• Mandatory certifications in Oracle database technologies and GoldenGate; systems engineering certifications preferred.
