Job description

Overview

BaxterStorey is seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter for a full-time role at their Almac location in Craigavon, Northern Ireland. The position involved maintaining a clean, organized kitchen environment that enables smooth culinary operations. This role is perfect for individuals with stamina, meticulous attention to detail, and strong communication skills who are passionate about supporting a dynamic hospitality team.

Responsibilities

  • Operate industrial dishwashers or manually clean dishes, utensils, and kitchen tools.
  • Keep kitchen surfaces, counters, and food prep areas hygienic and sanitized.
  • Take responsibility for disposing of waste and emptying bins appropriately.
  • Support chefs with basic food preparation such as peeling, chopping, and slicing ingredients.
  • Help manage inventory by receiving, storing, and organizing supplies and ingredients.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards by maintaining kitchen cleanliness and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly.

Requirements

  • While no formal education is strictly necessary, high school completion or an equivalent qualification is advantageous.
  • Capability to stand for long periods and handle physically demanding tasks such as lifting heavy items.
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to follow instructions precisely, and basic knowledge of kitchen sanitation and equipment preferred.
  • Good communication skills and a collaborative team spirit are essential.
