Role Purpose
The Junior eCommerce Data Analyst will provide key insights and reporting to support the eCommerce strategy and optimization efforts. This role involves maximizing the effectiveness of a new technology infrastructure for Spurs Shop, helping to improve overall performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with the eCommerce Strategy & Insights Manager to analyse and optimize Spurs Shop’s business metrics and performance.
- Create clear, actionable reports and dashboards, conveying findings to both the eCommerce team and cross-department stakeholders.
- Partner with various departments to troubleshoot issues and enhance the customer shopping experience.
- Handle ad hoc data inquiries to support different teams.
- Discover growth opportunities and identify potential improvements in the user journey.
- Coordinate with the Business Analytics team to ensure consistent reporting across the club.
- Engage with the web development team and external data consultants to maintain and enhance tracking of user events.
- Participate in club-wide insight sharing sessions with other analysts.
- Stay informed on the latest trends and innovations in user experience, advertising, and technology by attending industry webinars and sharing relevant knowledge within the eCommerce team.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business, Marketing, Statistics, or a related field, with a minimum 2:2 grade or equivalent. Degree completion expected by Summer 2026.
- Some internship or entry-level experience in analytics, research, e-commerce, insights, or marketing roles.
- Strong communication skills in written, verbal, and visual formats.
- Good understanding of eCommerce fundamentals and key performance indicators, grasping the balance between traffic volume, conversion rates, and average order value.
- Basic conceptual knowledge of A/B testing methodologies.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, complex formulas like XLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, nested IF statements, and data manipulation.
Desirable Skills
- Experience working with eCommerce platforms such as Salesforce Commerce Cloud, BigCommerce, or Shopify.
- Familiarity with web analytics tools like Google Analytics 4 or Mixpanel.
- Understanding of basic statistics principles and ability to interpret statistical outputs such as coefficients and confidence intervals.
- Fundamental SQL query writing skills.
- Experience with business intelligence and data visualization tools, especially Tableau, Power BI, ThoughtSpot, or Looker, with a focus on Tableau going forward.
