IT Systems Administrator

Role Overview

We are seeking a mid-level IT professional with 3 to 6 years of experience to oversee and enhance our internal IT systems. This person will ensure smooth IT operations, provide employee support, and introduce automation, including leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs) to boost efficiency. This is an on-site role based in Dubai.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer devices, user accounts, and policies using Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Entra ID, and Microsoft 365 platforms.
• Manage the full onboarding and offboarding processes, including account setup, device allocation, access rights, and software installations.
• Deliver first-line IT support to staff members.
• Maintain Linux-based virtual private servers (VPS) and internal IT services, including managing access credentials, performing system updates, and executing data backups.
• Identify and resolve server-related and connectivity issues.
• Implement security measures such as multi-factor authentication (MFA), Conditional Access, and ensuring device compliance with policies.
• Manage user permissions by adhering to least-privilege security standards.
• Address basic security incidents such as compromised accounts or lost devices.
• Automate routine IT tasks including onboarding and system setups to reduce manual workload.
• Utilize LLMs to streamline troubleshooting, scripting, and documentation efforts.
• Continuously enhance IT workflows to minimize repetitive tasks.
• Monitor system uptime and service performance, configure alerts, and address recurring issues promptly.
• Maintain detailed runbooks and documentation to support IT operations.
• Occasionally support the Application Engineering team by handling technical escalations related to MATLAB license servers, network access, and environment configuration.

Required Qualifications

• Three to six years of hands-on experience in IT systems administration.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Entra ID, and Microsoft 365 administration.
• Strong experience in Linux system management including SSH access, service configuration, and basic networking concepts.
• Competency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
• Demonstrated troubleshooting capability across endpoint devices and server infrastructure.
• Experience employing LLM technologies to improve technical workflows including automation and debugging.
• Good command of written and spoken English.

Preferred Skills

• Experience working with VPS or cloud hosting environments.
• Familiarity with reverse proxies, TLS security, and fundamental networking principles.
• Understanding of MATLAB license server environments is advantageous.
