Instrumentation Technician

Job Overview

This role involves managing and maintaining instrumentation operations and maintenance (O&M) activities specifically for Phosphoric Acid and Fertilizer Process Plants. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring system reliability and plant availability through preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee instrumentation operations and maintenance tasks within Phosphoric Acid / Fertilizer Process Plants.
• Carry out preventive, predictive, and emergency repairs for field instruments and control systems.
• Maintain and service devices such as transmitters, control valves, flow, level, pressure, temperature instruments, analyzers, PLC, DCS, and SCADA systems.
• Execute shutdown-related maintenance, conduct calibration, loop checking, and support commissioning activities.
• Ensure instrumentation reliability to reduce downtime and maximize plant operational readiness.
• Lead the instrumentation team while enforcing health, safety, and environmental standards including PTW, LOTO, JSA, and 5S protocols.
• Handle maintenance documentation using SAP PM/MIS tools and track relevant maintenance KPIs.

Candidate Requirements

• Proven, hands-on experience in instrumentation maintenance within Phosphoric Acid or Fertilizer Plants is essential.
• Solid understanding of Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), SCADA, and field instrumentation.
• Competence in instrument calibration, loop checking, and resolving instrumentation issues.
• Previous exposure to plant commissioning and process control systems operation.
• Knowledge and experience of preventive maintenance practices, shutdown scheduling, and spare parts management.
• Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities.
• Strong emphasis on safety with familiarity in Permit to Work (PTW), Lockout Tagout (LOTO), and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) procedures.
• Working familiarity with SAP PM is advantageous.

Compensation

A monthly salary ranging between INR 50,000 and INR 60,000 will be offered for this position.
