Infrastructure & Cloud Platform Manager

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure & Platform Manager to guide the strategic direction and operational excellence of a complex IT environment serving over 8,000 users in the UK. This leadership role emphasizes evolving the infrastructure from a reactive support model to a proactive, high-performance operation that enhances business value. The scope includes management of cloud, network, and platform operations ensuring reliability, scalability, and security across physical, virtual, and cloud infrastructures.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and lead the infrastructure strategy and governance across cloud environments (AWS and Azure), networking, and platform integrations.
• Implement a proactive and reliability-focused approach to maintaining system performance and uptime.
• Manage incident escalation processes, mitigate related risks, and future-proof the infrastructure landscape.
• Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team of approximately six infrastructure professionals to enhance service reliability and automation.
• Oversee change and lifecycle management transitioning from project delivery to business-as-usual operations.
• Drive automation projects to boost operational efficiency and return on investment.
• Ensure compliance with security standards, enforce disaster recovery plans, and uphold regulatory requirements.

Candidate Profile

• Proven leadership experience managing infrastructure teams within complex technical environments.
• Strong expertise with AWS, Azure, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Intune, and security technologies.
• Comprehensive networking knowledge covering SD-WAN, routing protocols, switching, and wireless networks.
• Familiarity with platforms like Citrix, Netscaler, and SQL database environments.
• Experience successfully delivering large-scale IT projects while maintaining operational stability.
• Strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving abilities and strong interpersonal communication skills.
