HVAC Technician

Overview

This role of HVAC Technician is dedicated to effectively performing preventive and corrective maintenance, monitoring, and servicing of HVAC systems. The technician is responsible for diagnosing issues, troubleshooting equipment, conducting installations, performing tests, generating reports, and using appropriate tools following safe work practices and standardized procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Under general supervision, diagnose and repair system malfunctions requiring technical expertise and understanding of materials and time needed.
• Identify maintenance risks on equipment and diagnose electrical and mechanical faults in HVAC systems.
• Clean, adjust, and repair HVAC systems and conduct warranty services when necessary.
• Perform emergency repairs promptly and efficiently, provide technical guidance, and deliver on-the-job training.
• Maintain awareness of workplace health and safety standards to minimize risks to self and colleagues.
• Follow work instructions and customer requirements with responsibility, report injuries, near misses, and incidents, and collaborate with team and management to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Adhere rigorously to safety procedures and guidelines at job sites and ensure timely completion of work orders.

Candidate Qualifications

• Possess a High School diploma or Diploma with at least 1 year of relevant job experience, or a Bachelor's degree or equivalent even without job experience.
• A minimum of 4 years' experience in HVAC maintenance and installation, particularly involving HVAC equipment care.
• Knowledge of chilled water and packaged HVAC units.
• Experience working in airport environments is preferred.
• Strong technical understanding of corrective and preventive maintenance of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems.
• Ability to interpret and read technical drawings accurately.
