Position Overview
We are conducting an extensive recruitment for several Horticulture Officer roles within the Parks and Gardens team at Maribyrnong. This presents a significant chance to join a team responsible for the upkeep and enhancement of parks, gardens, sports grounds, streetscapes, and open spaces, contributing to safe, visually pleasing, and sustainable environments that enhance community wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute high-quality horticultural maintenance duties including weed control, mowing, brushcutting, watering, pruning, planting, and mulching.
- Assist in scheduling and planning seasonal horticulture and park maintenance activities.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Possess a Trade Certificate in Horticulture, Parks and Gardens, or an equivalent qualification.
- Extensive hands-on experience providing a comprehensive range of horticultural and park maintenance services, ideally across multiple locations.
- Experience adhering to established horticultural and parks maintenance programs, including reporting completed tasks, planning future works, and working effectively in a coordinated team environment.
- Capable of maintaining and safely operating various equipment and tools relevant to parks maintenance and horticulture.
- Hold a valid Medium Rigid Driver's License.
- Must have and maintain an unrestricted Working with Children Check as required for the role.
- Successful clearance of a Police Check with no relevant criminal record.
