Job description
Role Overview
The position requires creating a variety of digital and print visual content such as social media posts, display advertisements, thumbnails, banners, editorial graphics, and infographics. The designer will also produce visuals related to breaking news, including cards, data visualizations, and explainer graphics, often under tight deadlines.
Additionally, the role involves devising creative campaigns for marketing clients, including static images, carousels, and short-form videos. Maintaining consistent brand presentation across the company's channels and client accounts is essential.
Collaboration is key, as the designer will work closely with editorial, marketing, and performance teams to convert creative briefs into finalized designs. Adapting master assets into platform-specific formats for channels such as Meta, Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, YouTube, and Google Display is also part of the job.
Candidate Requirements
- Possess 3 to 5 years of graphic design experience, preferably within media houses, agencies, or publishing environments.
- Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, and After Effects.
- Have a portfolio showcasing editorial/news design alongside commercial and advertising projects.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure without compromising quality, crucial given the fast-paced nature of news cycles.
- Strong knowledge of layout principles, typography, color theory, and visual hierarchy.
- Comfortable handling both Arabic and English typography, including right-to-left layout formats.
Additional Desired Skills
- Experience in motion graphics and editing short-form videos.
- Understanding of social media advertising specifications and creative best practices.
- Basic exposure to UI/UX or web design, specifically using Figma.
- Arabic language proficiency.
Additional Information
- Work location is Doha, Qatar; on-site presence is required.
- Preference for candidates presently in Qatar holding transferable visas or No Objection Certificates (NOC).
