Graduate Data Scientist

About the Role

Branding Science Group is seeking a motivated Graduate Data Scientist to join their expanding global Data Science team based in London, UK. This role offers hybrid working with three days per week in the office. You will focus on leveraging data science, AI, and analytics to tackle real-life business challenges, particularly at the nexus of healthcare insights, technology, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to data science projects that impact significant business outcomes.
• Assist in implementing the company's data strategy and enhancing access to internal data assets.
• Develop, maintain, and improve internal data science tools, data pipelines, and AI-driven applications.
• Carry out quantitative data analysis for various client initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to automate processes to boost business efficiency.
• Support the deployment and integration of new data and AI tools within teams.
• Engage in thought leadership activities, including creating content and presenting at conferences.
• Promote AI literacy and data science skills across the organization.
• Provide regular progress reports to senior leadership.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• A Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
• Genuine enthusiasm for applying data science to solve business problems.
• Hands-on experience contributing to analytical, technical, or machine learning projects via academics, internships, or personal endeavors.
• Solid understanding of statistical methods such as hypothesis testing, regression analysis, and p-values.
• Proficiency in programming languages like Python or R for data analysis, modeling, and visualization.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication skills to clearly convey technical concepts to non-specialist audiences.
• Effective organizational and time management skills.
• A proactive attitude, eagerness to learn continuously, and strong ethical standards.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in developing code-driven technical solutions.
• Familiarity with AI or Large Language Model applications, for example, OpenAI or Anthropic APIs.
• Knowledge of version control systems such as Git.
• Exposure to building data pipelines, APIs, and working with SQL databases.
• Experience deploying internal or web-based data science tools.
