About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead comprehensive payroll operations across multiple countries, primarily within the EMEA and Americas regions. This key role, based in Cork, Ireland, demands meticulous oversight, strict adherence to legal requirements, and continuous enhancement of payroll procedures. Reporting to senior leadership, this position carries significant responsibility and influence within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the entire payroll cycle for several international locations, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
- Ensure adherence to local payroll regulations, tax laws, and social insurance standards in all operating jurisdictions.
- Serve as the central contact for payroll-related inquiries from employees, HR, and Finance departments globally.
- Collaborate closely with HR and Finance teams to align payroll data integration within SAP SuccessFactors and ADP payroll systems.
- Initiate and lead efforts to standardize and optimize payroll processes internationally.
- Manage month-end and year-end payroll procedures, including reconciliations, journal entries, and reporting duties.
- Supervise third-party payroll vendor relationships across different countries.
- Maintain and update payroll policy documentation in accordance with best practices.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and development for payroll team members, where applicable.
- Generate regular payroll cost and compliance reports for executive management.
Candidate Requirements
Essential Qualifications
- At least five years of senior-level experience in payroll management with a proven background in global or multi-jurisdiction payroll.
- Direct experience using SAP SuccessFactors and/or ADP payroll platforms.
- Strong understanding of Irish payroll legislation (including PAYE, PRSI, USC) plus knowledge of payroll laws in at least one other international location.
- Demonstrated ability managing complex, high-volume payroll environments.
- Exceptional attention to detail complemented by strong analytical and reconciliation capabilities.
- Proven capacity to work independently and prioritize effectively in a dynamic setting.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Professional payroll certification such as IPASS or equivalent.
- Experience within multinational corporations or shared services centers.
- Experience with payroll system rollouts or transition projects.
- Familiarity with Workday or other HRIS software platforms.
