About the Role

Join an Australian-based photography and videography company as a freelance video editor focused on weddings and special events. This ongoing contract position suits a creative individual passionate about cinematic storytelling and crafting emotionally compelling video edits. You'll transform raw footage into polished wedding highlight reels, Instagram Reels, and short-form videos that encapsulate each event's spirit.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce wedding highlight films of 5–10 minutes with a cinematic and emotional narrative style.
• Create engaging short videos and Instagram Reels optimized for social media sharing.
• Synchronize audio and video elements to achieve smooth storytelling flow.
• Apply foundational colour correction, and if possible, perform advanced colour grading to enhance visuals.
• Ensure all video edits appear professional, clean, and conform to project briefs.
• Deliver completed videos within agreed deadlines.
• Collaborate remotely, maintaining clear communication regarding project details and requirements.

Candidate Requirements

• Demonstrable experience editing wedding and event videos, supported by a compelling portfolio of similar work.
• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro (preferred) and DaVinci Resolve; skills in colour grading are advantageous.
• Strong grasp of cinematic editing styles and the ability to tell emotional stories through video.
• Competence in syncing audio with visuals and producing refined final edits.
• Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to high-quality outputs.
• Self-driven, reliable, and adept at managing multiple projects within deadlines.
• Possession of the required editing software and access to high-speed internet for efficient file transfers.
• Committed availability for ongoing freelance assignments and prompt communication.
