The Tox Technique leads in lymphatic body sculpting with over 150 franchise agreements and 50 open locations nationwide since its 2019 inception. They are simultaneously growing a second brand, The Shade, a dry mani-and-pedi studio launched recently in NYC’s SoHo and positioned for franchising expansion.
Role Overview
We seek a knowledgeable Franchise Paralegal to support the entire franchise process for both brands. This remote position demands exceptional organization, deadline orientation, and process ownership within a dynamic, expanding legal environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and update Franchise Disclosure Documents (FDDs) complying with FTC and state mandates for both brands.
- Collaborate with legal on franchise registrations, renewals, amendments, and applicable exemptions across multiple states.
- Draft, review, and organize franchise agreements, addenda, and area development contracts.
- Maintain a compliance calendar with critical deadlines involving registrations, renewals, and disclosures.
- Coordinate franchisee onboarding paperwork and manage precise records for all active franchise locations.
- Oversee document execution workflows including e-signatures, ensuring a clean audited repository.
- Support overall compliance efforts and liaise with external franchise counsel, sales, and operations teams to facilitate deal progression.
- Assist with entity management, trademark tracking, and general corporate administrative tasks as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum of three years’ experience as a paralegal with direct, practical involvement in franchising, particularly in preparing FDDs and managing state registrations.
- Strong familiarity with FTC Franchise Rule and various state franchise registration and disclosure laws.
- Detail-oriented with systematic approaches to never miss a deadline.
- Proven ability managing multiple contracts and filings across brands or entities.
- Excellent writing and document drafting capabilities.
- Highly self-motivated and reliable in a remote, fast-paced setting.
- Possession of a paralegal certificate or a relevant college degree is favored.
- Bonus skills include experience with franchise management or contract lifecycle management software and working with multi-state or multi-brand systems.
